Evansville Countryside Orchard

Countryside Orchard, formerly known as Engelbrecht’s focuses on growing and selling peaches and apples. They sell tree-ripened fruit at local farmer’s markets and at their farm location. U-Pick peaches, apples, and pumpkins are available within season.

Evansville-area natives have fond memories of the original Engelbrecht’s location on Christ Road and the orchard in Newburgh. As the population in the area grew, these locations became more and more urban. Eventually, the two locations ceased production and were developed into housing. The current orchard location on Old Petersburg Road near Highway 57 is away from the hustle and bustle of the city – a more rural setting, for sure.

They grow a variety of fruit, including peaches, apples, nectarines, pumpkins, and cherries.  The majority of the orchard is planted with more than 30 varieties of peaches from mid-June to Labor Day. They also grow many varieties of apples, including Lodi, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Granny Smith, Jonagold, Fuji, Gala, and more. Each have their best qualities, and you may choose several to be your favorites. The typical apple season extends from July through October.  Check their website to see what they are currently picking.

In addition to their orchard location, products can be found at Market on Main, Franklin Street Bazaar, Historic Newburgh Farmers Market, and http://www.localsourceswi.com/
