At Urban Seeds, we are committed to ensuring everyone in our community has access to affordable, nutritious and diverse food and improving regional food systems. Our work focuses on connecting farmers, families, and food system stakeholders to create sustainable solutions to food insecurity. As we continue to expand our reach and deepen our impact, we are seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors and guide us in shaping a stronger, more resilient regional food system.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for diverse voices and expertise to ensure we meet the complex challenges facing our food systems. Specifically, we seek individuals with experience in the following areas:

Nonprofit Leadership: Prior experience serving on nonprofit boards or leading community-based organizations.

Finance & Fundraising: Skills in financial oversight, community-driven fundraising, grant writing, or partnership development.

Agriculture & Food Systems: Expertise in sustainable farming, urban agriculture, food production, and distribution.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI): A strong commitment to advancing equity in food systems and food access.

Public Health & Nutrition: Expertise in nutrition, public health, or food policies that enhance access to healthy food for vulnerable populations.

Board Member Responsibilities

Attend Monthly Meetings: Participate in monthly board meetings and occasional committee meetings.

Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of our strategic plan.

Fundraising & Advocacy: Help secure resources and raise awareness about our mission through personal and professional networks.

Provide Oversight: Ensure fiscal responsibility and sound management practices within the organization.

Act as an Ambassador: Represent Urban Seeds in the community, advocating for our programs, services, and policy initiatives.
