From the EVV Museum website:
“This summer, the whole family will be able to get hands-on with their health with the Evansville Museum’s exhibition HEALTHY IS FOR EVERYONE: AN INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE FOR THE TRI-STATE.
This exhibition, built upon the foundation of data collected from the 2015 Tri-State Health Survey commissioned by the Welborn Baptist Foundation, will take an in-depth look at health in the Tri-State in a family-friendly, interactive and educational way. Debuting July 1 and departing September 16, 2018, this major Old Gallery exhibition should not be missed!
Featuring local data, personal stories and community resources, the exhibition will feature topics including the top three health concerns and the top four preventable risk factors for the Tri-State. Guests also will discover how Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois stack up in comparison to the rest of the nation.
Appealing to anyone who wants to learn more about how to improve their health and taking the mantra “healthy is for everyone” to heart, the exhibition will reveal how age, ethnicity, income level and other demographic factors may affect our health. By exploring resources and input from local medical experts, guests will discover what they personally can do to improve their well-being.
In addition, the exhibition will examine the Tri-State’s healthcare legacy while celebrating the future with the opening of the Multi-Institutional Academic Health Science & Research Center. The exhibition will feature artifacts from the Museum’s collection showcasing our healthcare past.
Accompanying the exhibition will be a series of engaging community programs that will be held on #YourThursdayNights! and Free Fridays.
On Saturday, July 28, the Super Saturday theme will be Blood & Guts, featuring hands-on family-friendly activities centered around health and medicine. Be sure to follow the Evansville Museum on social media for the latest program updates!”
